Description
The Ruston 20DL locomotive Susan was produced in 1941 by Ruston and Hornsby and delivered to the War Department at the Eastriggs ammunition dump.
The locomotive worked at various MOD locations until 1989 when she was sold into private ownership. It is now located at the Old Kiln railway where she has been extensively rebuilt and is now in regular service again.
Susan was a very early example of the 20DL locomotive and was built with the 1930’s straight sided bonnet rather than the slope sided bonnet most of the class displayed.
Our model locomotive features four wheel drive from a 12 volt micro motor and gearbox. We have found the model runs quite happily either on either a 6 or 9 volt battery.
We are selling this 16mm to the foot scale model locomotive in two forms. The kit version can be found here.
