Description
This model kits makes a Southwold 2 plank goods wagon. The Southwold Railway was a 3 foot narrow gauge railway operating in Suffolk between 1879 and 1929. It was a “common carrier” railway, i.e. one that carried fare paying passengers and provided a general goods carrying service. On opening the Southwold Railway purchased its rolling stock from Bristol Wagon and Carriage Works Ltd including 19 open goods wagons. The wagons were painted grey with white lettering.
This kit features:
Laser Cut Bodywork
The wagon body is cut from premium quality poplar plywood which may be painted, stained or simply left bare. Both sides of the body work have engraved plank details so that wagon looks good even if no load is being carried.
3D Printed Sintered Nylon Detailing
The kit includes several detail parts 3D printed in SLS nylon. These include door hinge plates, brake lever , brake shoes and end stanchions. They come pre-coloured in a satin “charcoal black” finish.
3D Printed Sintered Nylon Axle Guards
A set of sintered nylon axle gurads are provided that are simply screwed onto the sole bars. These provide a very free running wheel bearing without the need for brass bushes. They come pre-coloured in a “carbon black” finish which looks attractive without needing any further painting.
Quality Steel Wheels
Two pairs of 24 mm steel disc wheels are provided (i.e. two axles). These are precision CNC machined with 2mm journals and have insulated bushes in case you use track power.
The kit includes a centre dumb buffer (with hook) set at the correct 24mm above rail head, height. An alternative pair of suitably spaced pilot holes are also provided in the inner buffer beams so that the customer may replace the center buffer with Accucraft chopper couplings (not provided) if they wish.
Available in both 32mm and 45mm track gauges.
Paint, glue and the packing crate load shown in the main picture are not included
