Description
Stretton station on the Ashover Light Railway was designed and built by the Clay Cross Company. Opened in 1925, Stretton was the lines main passenger interchange with the Midland Railway. The building consisted of a covered waiting area and a good office. The station was closed for passenger traffic in 1937 but goods traffic continued until 1950. The Ashover line was lifted and sold for scrap in 1951. The Clay Cross company had offered the line to the local council for a public foot path but they refused it on the grounds that maintaining the bridges would be too expensive !
Further information on the Ashover Light Railway can be found here.
This Stretton station laser cut kit is in 1/20 scale making it suitable for both the Sixteen Millimeter and G scale modeler.

Birch Plywood Detailing
