Description
This is a freelance model of a long wheel base flat wagon used for transporting large and awkward loads (wagon is a scale 12 foot long). This was kit was designed for a customer who needed a longer version of our general purpose flat wagon (scale 10 foot long) so that he could mount his video camera on. We though other customers might be interested in the idea so have included this kit on the web-site.
This kit features:
Load Securing Rings
The kit includes eight load securing lugs and rings. The lugs are made from 3D printed nylon and 4mm diameter metal rings which are pre-blackened. The wagon edge strips come “pre drilled” for easy fixing of these lugs. However a pair of plain strips are also provided so the modeler may choose to locate the lugs in alternative positions e.g. on the wagon floor itself, by drilling their own holes.
3D Printed Sintered Nylon Axle Guards
A set of sintered nylon axle gurads are provided that are simply screwed onto the sole bars. These provide a very free running wheel bearing without the need for brass bushes. They come pre-coloured in a “carbon black” finish which looks attractive without needing any further painting. These axle guards are now available in our “Home Builder Section”.
Quality Steel Wheels
Two pairs of 24 mm steel disc wheels are provided (i.e. two axles). These are precision CNC machined with 2mm journals and have insulated bushes in case you use track power.
The kit includes a centre dumb buffer (with hook) set at the correct 24mm above rail head, height.
Available in both 32mm and 45mm track gauges.
